MSP432: Too Much Analog Noise

Hi,

I'm working with an MSP432P401R. I've been running example ADC code from the MSP Driver Lib.  When I input a signal generated by the MSP (for example connect the 3.3 power to two resistors and measure voltage between them), I have very low noise. When I input a signal generated by an outside source (for example a AA battery), I get a lot of noise. Any ideas on why this is happening?
