CapTIvate - Is there any effect on high temperature?

Hi,

MSP430FR263x has tolerance to 85℃,

but  when we put sensor panel and MCU on the temperature, is there any effect on sensing?

And is there any temperature characteristic data for sensing?

Best regards,

Yuji

  • Dear Yuji,
Yes temperature will impact the parasitic capacitances of the PCB as well as the IO properties of the MCU (within the tolerances described in the datasheet). These type of environmental factors are compensated for in firmware. The LTA (long term average) is used to compensate for drift which can occur due to environmental changes. If the drift becomes too large the firmware will automatically perform a re-calibration inorder to eliminate any possible loss of sensitivity. Please refer to this section in the software library:

  • Dear Chris,

Thank you very much for your reply!
Oh, it compensates in firmware.. it's great technology.
I got it. Thank you so much.

    Best regards,
    Yuji
