I am trying to get a MSP-GANG Programmer to work with a MSP430F2418. Every time that I try to program the board I am given an Error 33: IR Communication Failed. I have tried wiring this so that the programmer supplies the power (pin 2 connected) and that the board is self powered (pin 4 connected). In trouble shooting I have tried changing the voltage supplied from the programmer from 3.0V to 3.3V, Changed the JTAG writing Speed, and obviously looking into if self powered helps. The length of the cable is approximately 10 cm long so length is not the issue. I monitored the voltage at the VCC pin and it was constantly 3.0 Volts. In addition to this I have varied the Vcc settle speed from 0 - 4.0 seconds in addition to changing the current between 30mA and 50mA.
The Firmware version being used is 1.02.02.00
I have attached graphics for your review. Disregard the wiring diagram stating the micro is a MSP430F2416, this was changed and the drawing isn't updated.
