CodeConvert error for MSP432 CMSIS Update

Hello,

I am working with a MSP432 launchpad and I learned about the new CMSIS update so I took the steps to update my header files and convert my code. I am using the CodeConvert tool found in the sla686 application note. I am running Windows 10. As per the instructions:

1. I changed the directory of the command prompt to the location where I had unzipped my code conversion files

2. I specified the path to the code I wanted to convert, and the path to where I wanted the converted code to be saved.

3. I "ran" this command

After doing all this I run into an error that says it could not create a target file. Please refer to the image below and suggest a solution.

Bhoomi,

Just to make sure, the converted directory exists before you run the conversion correct? Also, just to make sure, can you verify that you have not spelled Senior_Design_v5.c in any different way?

Maybe also try just using \Senior_Design_v5\*.c instead of secifying the explicit .c file?

And should be no difference, but make sure to include .exe on the end of CodeConvert in your cmd prompt as below. Just want to make sure we get rid of all the possible quirks for debug.

Hi Evan,

I was following the text example given in www.ti.com/.../slaa686.pdf which is:

CodeConvert C:\temp\CodeConvert\code\*.c C:\temp\CodeConvert\converted

I tried using * instead of a particular file name with both CodeConvert and CodeConvert.exe at the beginning of the command, however it still can't convert the files. And yes, the directory "Converted Code" did exist prior to me attempting the conversion, and there seem to be no typing errors. Here's another image for what I did:

Bhoomi,

I think I see the problem now. Make sure you have any folder locations that include a space in the directory tree in quotes.

Example: CodeConvert.exe C:\Users\Bhoomi\workspace_v6_1\Senior_Design_v5\*.c "C:\Users\Bhoomi\workspace_v6_1\Converted Code"

This is due to an issue with the way windows handles spaces in the command line such as this issue on Stack Overflow: stackoverflow.com/.../spaces-problem-in-cmd

Thank you so much! It was the space in the destination directory name that was causing the error. I should have guessed. The code has converted now.
