When I intalled CCS6 I didn't choose the MSP430 family support, but I need it now. I tried to do that through update but it doesn't work: CCS shows me that it has the MSP430 compiler but I can't choose a new MSP430 project.
How could I make it work with MSP430 now?
If you run the CCS installer again and select the same installation path as before, you can add support for the "MSP Ultra Low Power MCUs" product family (and others if necessary). This will preserve your current CCS installation without having to reinstall everything.
After the installation process has completed, open CCS, under "View" go to "Getting Started", select "New Project", and you should now be able to use your MSP430, as shown below.
