Dear Champ,

The customer uses MSP430F5510 in the USB keyboard product. He wants to know does MSP430F5510 can support PS/2 through USB connector. Because some user uses "USB to PS/2 bridge" for connecting USB keyboard to PS/2 port on the PC. Do we have example code for the customer? Thanks.

These bridges are just passive adapters; they require that the device itself supports the PS/2 protocol through its signal lines.

The two protocols are completely different. The only way to support PS/2 is to make the signals switchable between the USB pins and some GPIO pins, and detect to which type of host you're connected when starting up. (And you have to implement the PS/2 protocol yourself.)

BTW, there is TI open source example how MSP430 USB device can be used with keyboard...
