MSP430G2 Launchpad error: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port

Im using MSP430G2 with G2553 and fully updated Code Composer V6.1.2 and i got this message "Launchpad error: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port" when i trying to debug test "blink" app. I know that there is many of the other threads like this, but I did everything and there is still the same problem. Im using Windows 10 x64 and MSI Z87 G45 Motherboard. I've tried to connet launchpad to all possible usb ports,  shut down all of the possibe processes in the task menager. There is no the other device which is using some of the COM ports. Im do not using MSP-FET430UIF, launchpad is connected via USB. Driver is installed properly. You can see the configuration screenshots below:

I was looking for a solution for hours, searched all the threads here, nothing helps ... Can anyone help?

    Hi Wojciech,

    First, welcome to E2E! Also, thanks for providing the detailed information about your setup - it helps tremendously.

    I duplicated your setup on my PC (Windows 7 x64 Dell laptop) using CCS v6.1.2 and an MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad (with G2553), and I was able to get the Blink LED example to work. However, I was using a USB 2.0 port.

    This issue seems to be related to the USB 3.0 ports. Since your MSI Z87 G45 Motherboard most likely has an Intel chipset and several USB 3.0 interfaces, I'd recommend disabling the Intel xHCI Controller in the BIOS, based on the following two threads (thanks to users Jay12 and Jens-Michael for pointing this out):

    1. Error: "Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port
    2. Help? "MSP430: Error initializing emulator: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port" (Lots of Details)

    For more information about the Intel xHCI Controller, take a look at this blog.

    Unfortunately, there is still the same problem. I also tried to change various options in the BIOS with USB controllers, but nothing works. I have USB 2.0 ports on my front panel of PC, and I tried all of them before and nothing. I downloaded "LaunchPadFirmwareUpdater2.0" just for fast test of detecting this device, not for update anything and on the other PC launchpad is detected and it's working with Code Composer too, but with my PC doesn't. I ran out of ideas how to fix this...

    Thanks for trying the BIOS approach and for duplicating your setup on another PC.

    After looking through several other threads related to this problem, I'm suspecting that a program or service (running on your PC, but not the other PC) is not allowing the LaunchPad to be recognized. Examples could be anti-virus software, other drivers, etc.

    In this thread, AccuWeather, Windows 8 Mail app, Bluetooth Device Monitor, Dell widget app, and Daemon Tools Pro were programs/services preventing the LaunchPad from being recognized. In this thread, it was the "Olympus Digital Wave Player" watchdog agent. In this thread, it was the Razer DeathAdder mouse device & drivers.

    Unfortunately, this kind of problem is so dependent on your PC setup that it becomes very difficult to duplicate. Perhaps you can find some software that allows you to monitor which programs are opening and using the COM ports.

    Just one hour ago i disabled these 3 devices and it works, but not perfectly...

    .Sometimes, in principle quite often I get an error "Error initializing emulator: Could not communicate with FET".

    I have to replug launchpad. For now im working on Windows 7 x64 (I installed it on the other hard drive) without any unessesery drivers, and it works perfectly, but with Windows 10 x64 and all of these Intel drivers for my Intel Core I5 4670k and MSI motherboard stuff there is still problem as above.
