Grace

I installed CCS 6.1.3.00033 on May 12 on a
Windows 7 64-bit laptop, but Grace is not available.
It is listed as a plug-in under Installation Details.
One solution suggested installing Grace from the
App Center, but it is not available there.
How do I create a Grace project?

  • Robert,

Have you downloaded Grace from the tool page? http://www.ti.com/tool/grace

It comes as a CCS plugin or standalone software. A quick-start guide is provided on the TI Wiki: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Grace_Quick_Start_Guide

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • Ryan,

Thanks for the reply, I will follow your suggestion.

One thing bothers me though and that is I had CCS 6.1.2 on a different computer and it included Grace, but the installation of 6.1.3 on my current computer does not.

On one Grace related page it is stated:

For Code Composer Studio 6.x Users
Grace 3 is available to any MSP430 user who has installed Code Composer 6.x. Once you have installed CCS 6, you will see an option to download the Grace 3 beta via the CCS App Center. Be aware that you will need to click on the App Center's “See more >>” link. Installing from the App Center will also update any needed dependent components, such as XDCTools and DriverLib.

However, when I followed those instructions there is no reference to Grace. I am only programming the MSP430G2XXX Launchpad.

    Thanks again for your response,
    Robert
  • Ryan,

I installed the standalone version of Grace and was able to complete a simple program that toggled the Launchpad LED on pin 0 in response to an interrupt generated by pressing the button on pin 3. It is not as convenient as having the Grace plugin, but I guess it will have to do for now.

    Thanks,
    Robert
