*** Why Arm Micro controller's Forum does not let me post anything?!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER

I tried to post my question related to the J-Link but it gives me ACCESS denied!

Regarding my question:

Like MSP430 that I use MSPFlasher to load the code into the board. I wonder if I can use any Arm Flasher to load the .text without using IAR?! IS this doable?

Thank you in advance!

  • Hi,

I might have to move this to a different forum to better assist you. What arm device are you trying to load? and why don't you want to use IAR?
    Regards,

    Charles O.

  • Still no response from you guys! I'm just wondering if I can use any command line programmer (batch file) to load the code into the ARM(STM32f)?

If you deal with a STM32, have you considered posting on the STM32 forum instead ?

And to refer to your original post, have you realized that the LM3S (Stellaris) product line is abandoned, and replaced by the TM4C ?

You can try the TM4C subforum here - or check out the Segger website, the producer of the J-Link.

  • Yes mine is STM32F107. But we do not have STM32 Forum in here and Arm is a READ ONLY Forum!
    However TM4C is accessible!
Segger has own IDE not the command line programmer.
  • ... and Arm is a READ ONLY Forum!

That is actually misleading on the part of TI.

The TM4C has an ARM Cortex M core also, as the MSP432. Not sure why only the defunct Stellaris forum has "ARM" in it's title - perhaps historical reasons (as LM had been "swallowed" by TI ...).

But we do not have STM32 Forum in here ...

But on the ST website - just follow the given link.

But be warned, it is (technically) one of the worst fora currently in existance - based on MS Sharepoint.

I just posted my question on TM4C Forum.

I downloaded ST software but it looks so weird and have no idea how to use it! I might need to dig more to see what is the best to use!

  • Hi,

Im sorry you have to use the STM2F instead of the TM4C or MSP432. I do not know for sure if the arm flasher you are using can load the ST part and I have no way of checking that since I do not have the STM32F107 or flasher in question.

I would suggest moving back to MSP and continue with the MSP flasher or using the TM4C, I can assist in finding an equivalent TI part.

    Charles O.

Do you mean the ST-Link utility software ?

It surely has a documentation, downloadable somewhere at the ST website.

But the J-Link probe also comes with useful GUI and commandline tools. I would prefer them, since they support multiple vendors.
