I have already asked the same query as mentioned below on live tech support, however, I would like to confirm if someone has previously tried using this before:
Can the MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad Development Kit be used with MSP430AFE253 micro-controller.
Thank You.
I had a MSP430AFE253 on a custom PCB so I just checked for you. No - the G2 can't program it, but the FET on newer LaunchPads like the F5529 can.
Thank you. Now I am using MSP430I2030 chip and it is mentioned that this chip can be used with the launchpad.http://www.ti.com/product/MSP430I2030/toolssoftware
However, it is unavailable in DIP package, hence, I have soldered the chip on an adaptor, but the chip is of 28 pins and the launchpad has slot for 20 pins, so, I am thinking of making the connections using bread board and jumpers, however, according to the datasheet of MSP430I2030, the ADC input, if not required should be connected to analog ground, what exactly should be done to make sure that it is connected to analog ground, connecting a jumper to ground on bread board should suffice?
Although the link is incorrectly placed on that particular web page there are no other sources or materials provided by TI that imply that the MSP430I2030 is compatible with the MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad. This is made even further clear by the fact that the MSP430I2030 does not have a 14/20-pin DIP package. You can contact the TI sales team for further information regarding returns.
There are no MSP430 SD devices The MSP430F20x3 devices are compatible with the MSP-EXP430G2 and have a SD A/D converter or any other available MSP LaunchPad.

Ryan
