MSP432 experimental processor errata

Hi all,

Now TI has released new documents for the MSP432P401R and especially a new errata.

But all the issues found in the "experimental" processor were wiped out from the errata. And of course I did not save the previous version of that errata.

Does someone know where it would be possible to get the SLAZ610 errata revision D ?

Thanks,

Jean-Michel Leconte

Since the TI website only appears to allow the "latest" version of a document to be downloaded, for older versions I default to looking on the Internet Archive.

Only SLAZ610 errata revision C is currently archived under SLAZ610. At least SLAZ610 errata revision C does list *some* MSP432P401R Rev B errata.

  • Thanks ! That is really helpful.
  • It used to be possible to get old document versions with paths like: http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/slaz610d

Sadly this no longer seems to work. Only the latest version of the document can be downloaded this way, and then you might as well use the unversioned URL.

  • Hi Jean Michael,

    Thank you for your feedback!

Specific to the MSP Errata we do in fact maintain revision history on all silicon revisions, following release to production.

On the MSP432P401R, we were moving from 'experimental' to 'production release' and we this is where we chose to make a clean slate to ensure customers using older "pre-release" silicon are migrating to the fully tested production-released version.

Following this update, if we do have any future revisions of 432P401R, you will see the older errata in the Appendix.

Regardless, please find attached the official SLAZ610 Revision C (same as the one provided earlier).

  • I am using a black Launchpad. I look at the present eratta, and see a number of possible problems with the ADC14 that have been deleted. Do these apply to the board I'm using? Is there a way to determine if I must upgrade or not?
    Thanks,
    Rob
  • Rob,

It is suggested that you upgrade to the red launchpad. The black launchpad has Rev B experimental silicon that is no longer supported. There have been a number of changes between Rev B and Rev C from both a software and a hardware standpoint that include a number of bug fixes. Please upgrade to a Red Launchpad (Which contains Rev C by default). Rev C also features the ability to work with the new SimpleLink MSP432 SDK which has a number of new software features that make developing a lot easier.
