MSP430 Spice Models

Hello E2E,

I have a customer who is working on a design that has employed the MSP430F2131IDGV and MSP430F1121AIDGV, and they are looking to build the best model they can for an application.

Specifically, they are using the onboard comparator, and are curious if we had a suggestion to a Spice model they can use for this comparator.

Notably, they are concerned with current draw, external feedback induced hysteresis, and transition timing.

I'm not aware of a TINA or Spice model that we have for MSPs, but I wanted to double check.  Are there any other preferred simulation models that we suggest?

Thanks for the help!

Russell

  • Hi Russell!
Unfortunately we do not offer simulation models for MSP's (or any MCU, so far as I am aware). Due to the nature of the product, it would be far too complicated to model all of the device's operations, settings, and so forth. Also, I do not know of an accptable model alternative. Perhaps the community can chime in here on substitutions or building your own.

Most of the information you are searching for can be found in the data sheet. If they find it meets their requirements they can do further evaluation with a Target Board and the supported package for that MSP or it's superset part. Let me know if you need help finding this information.
