MSP430i2040 Sub metering EVM Active Energy Pulse

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430I2040

Hello,

I have recently purchased another MSP430i2040 Sub metering EVM. Somehow I have accidentally activated the Active Energy Pulse feature on my meter as indicated by LED7. Now my current readings are stuck at 2147.48 A. Even after attempting to calibrate the meter and reflashing the software,  it is stuck at that number. What is this feature and how do i turn it off to receive normal current and active power readings? The documentation on this feature is scarce.

Thank You

  • Hello Kyle,

How are you flashing your device, and are you sure that it is being performed properly? A complete erase and re-program of device memory should fix the issue. What was done to accidentally activate the active energy pulse? Are you sure that the hardware hasn't been damaged in any way?

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • We have been having the issue since we purchased the board. We are using TI's MSP JTAG programmer to flash the device. We are also running the board on an external 3.3v supply.
  • So LED7 has always been on? What program is being used to flash the device?

    Regards,
    Ryan
