Hello

I'm using a MSP430G2553 for a little Test System. The user should be able to store an Ammount of Data (actually 23 Bytes) permanently.

My Question: Is it better to use Block write to have the longest Flash lifetime, or doesn't it matter how i write the Data?

I read the minimum Duration is >10000 Erase/Write-Cycles.

Is it better for the Flash to have a higher frequency (closer to 952kHz) or doesn't it matter?

When writing flash, lower frequency and higher temperature are better. The write mode does not really matter unless you do extremely many writes.

When reading flash, the frequency does not matter, but lower temperature is better to keep the data.

If you want your flash to be very reliable, store multple copies of the data (in case of an error), and regularly rewrite them (once per year or so).

I planned to use Segments b to d alternately and with a CRC to discover possible Errors.

Don't mix flash clock and MCLK. Flash clock can go up to 470 kHz.

Info memory is flash memory and life time is the same for your 23 bytes stored in info memory and your program (that will check this 23 bytes) stored in main flash.

What i ment was the Flash Clock, i juse read the wrong values, you are right!
Yes, i thought about that issue with the program Flash, too.
I thought about also check it by a background crc algorithm and the device will quit Operation if this crc wents wrong.
Shure, this can fail, too. But in the Moment have no other Idea.

That's why multiple copies are useful. As long as one has a valid CRC, you can rewrite the others.

Yes, i argee when i think of my data, but i will be an issue if your code Segment is corrupt. You have a fixed start adress if the Controller is powered up, this has to be reliable.
But maybe, this are academical questions, because it is not a safety function.
But if i can make my design more reliable without additional Hardware any ideas are welcome.
