BSL write check error

Hello Champs,

Ve customer tries to upload 256 bytes at once to FR4133 starting from address 0xFF10. When they perform attempt to write data from external MCU, they get response 0x3B 0x01 (BSL Core Message, Flash write check failed, CRC doesn't match). When they try to write the same data from address 0xFF00 everything is OK (response is 0x3B 0x00).

Are there any limitations on address fange, etc. on FR4133?

Hi Ilya,

The reason you get the Flash Write Check Failed message is because you are trying to write memory that doesn't exist on the device. On the FR4133, the highest address is the reset vector at 0xFFFE/0xFFFF. If you try to write 256 bytes starting at 0xFF10, that would take you to 0x01000F, which is beyond the end of memory. The reason it works at 0xFF00, is writing 256 bytes takes you to 0xFFFF, which is the end of memory on the FR4133.

Just to confirm - should the start address be multiply of 256 or it is not necessary?

The start address does not need to be a multiple of 256.
