MSP430F5659 UART BSL binary

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5659

Hi team,

I am using MSP430F5659 and i want to get the UART BSL  binary of MSP430F5659.

According to the data sheet (www.ti.com/.../msp430f5659.pdf), page 25, a UART BSL is available:

“A UART BSL is also available for devices with USB module that can be programmed by the user into the BSL memory by replacing the preprogrammed, factory supplied, USB BSL. Use of the UART BSL requires external access to the six pins shown in Table 8.”

We are not interested in the source code for the TI BSL, rather a binary that we can use to replace the pre-programmed USB BSL, as the datasheet states.

We are shipping a number of devices in about two weeks and we need to resolve the UART BSL issue quickly. I would greatly appreciate some more assistance on this matter from TI.

Thank you!

  • Hi Susan,

Please download the MSP430 MCUs Custom BSL Package: software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

Then go to 5xx_6xx_Released_BSL_Images/MSP430F665x_Family/UART BSL and you will find the BSL binary txt file for the MSP430F5659. As the MSP430 BSL User's Guide (SLAU319) states, the F665x and F565x devices share the same BSL version (00.08.88.39).

    Regards,
    Ryan
