MSP432P401R, How to execute the Factory Reset with MSP-FET and CCSv6.2?

Hello,

I can execute the Factory Reset to MSP432P401 with XDS100v2 and CCSv6.2 referring to 8.1 Factory Reset without Password on CCSv6 UG, SLAU575E. I did in a similar way with MSP-FET and its adapter, but I didn’t open Non Debuggable Device and DAP port.

Please let me know how to do the Factory Reset with MSP-FET.

    Hello Yamauchi-san,

    To execute the factory reset with the MSP-FET, you will have to change the target connection properties. Please take a look at the image below:

    Can I execute only Factory Reset to initialize devices with MSP-FET, not writing program.

     

    Some customers have started to exam MSP430P401 and asked variety of questions. So I would appreciate your help.

    Hi Yamauchi-san,

     Yes this is possible. You will need to follow the steps "as described" in Code Composer Studio™ 6.1+ for MSP432 chapter 8.1 Factory Reset Without Password, with a few exceptions.

    1. You will need to use your mspfet configuration, with the perform Factory Reset option enabled (as in my previous post)

    BTW, I created my own target configuration.

    2. After Launching this configuration, you just need to connect (no need for the show all cores and connect to the Non Debuggable Devices)

    3. Factory reset is done on Connect

    4. You are done

    Thanks for your help.

     

    I can't execute Factory Reset on your advice.

    I checked the Perform Factory Reset,

    and launched the configuration, and connected. There was not any message on the console

    When exited the debugger, the LED was flashing. After repowered, the LED was flashing.
