MSP430F5229 BSL for DVIO domain

I see two firmware present in MSP430BSL_1_00_12_00\5xx_6xx_Released_BSL_Images\MSP430F522x_Family\UART BSL

BSL.00.07.05.04
BSL.00.08.08.04

Can anyone point me which one is the BSL for DVIO domain and which one for DVCC domain? I do not see a readme file denoting it.

It is possible to interface with the BSL from either the DVCC or DVIO supply domains, as stated in Section 6.5 of the Datasheet, the difference being which pins and UART sources are used to access BSL functions. Version BSL.00.07.05.04 should be used for MSP430F5229 devices according to the MSP430 BSL User's Guide (SLAU319): www.ti.com/.../slau319l.pdf

Thank you Ryan, I know from the datasheet that default BSL supports timer based UART which is in DVCC domain.

Is BSL.00.07.05.04 for DVCC domain or DVIO domain? I am looking for BSL for DVIO domain.

Hi Vijai,

BSL.00.07.05.04 and BSL.00.08.08.04 for F5229 both use DVCC domain. The BSL 00.08.08.53 for F5259 seems fully compatible with F5229 and uses P3.3 and P3.4 from the DVIO domain. If this does not suit your needs then a custom-built BSL will be required.

Thanks Ryan,

We changed the hardware to use DVCC domain. We are able to flash images via BSL Rocket.
