MSP-EXP430F5529LP: The maximum clock frequency of supported by launch pad

Hi,

The maximum clock frequency that MSP430F5529 controller supports is 25MHz. The crystal oscillator on the Launch Pad is of 4MHz only but in the Energia I see there is board selection option as MSP-EXP430F5525LP on 25 MHz. So I want to know what is the maximum clock frequency at which the microcontroller runs on this launch pad board.

Also I want to know what is the maximum PWM frequency possible for this launch pad.

    The maximum MCLK frequency is 25MHz. The PWM frequency depends on the resolution you need.

    On LP is 4 MHz crystal for USB / BSL support. For 25 MHz must be used DCO. Don't know how this is related to Energia.

    However, if LP is mine product, than I will release it with 24 MHz crystal on board (not 4 MHz) that can be used as source for precise 24 MHz MCLK.

    Maximum frequency that can be on output pin is MCLK / 2 if samples are copied from memory to pin output by DMA.
