CCS: MSP430G2253 USB FET not found UART problems

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2553, MSP-FET

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hey there!

I've got problems using my MSP430G2553 Launchpad on my new machine (Win10 - MSI Z97 G55SLI - Intel I5 - CCS 6.2). I often get " No USB Fet was found" and have to retry. In case - uploading and debugging works, but when it comes to using the UART (Jumpers on my Rev.1.5 Board are in the correct position) CCS or Putty etc. hangs and i need to unplug the board. I had have tried USB2  and USB3 Ports - no diffence.

The UART works fine on my other device (Lenovo Laptop), same programm uploaded, also using the built in CCS terminal, also with CCS 6.2

I found this threat but got nothing new comming up. Anyone?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

So you've already seen threads that describe issues with the old eZ430 FET and Win10/USB3, unfortunately plans have not progressed as originally intended for a new MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad. My suggestion would be to use a MSP-FET or eZ-FET from another LaunchPad to program your MSP430G2553 device.

    Regards,
    Ryan
