Hello,

I have a project about MSP430G2553 and I want to program it via RS485 communication protocol. I will buy the necessary devices to program it but I want to be sure what I need before I order the components.

What are the necessary devices to program MSP430G2553?

    I have just noticed that MSP430G2553 can be programmed with JTAG and communicated with RS485 :) But I want to learn the devices to program and communicate with it. Thank you.

    Hello mustafa,

    The MSP430G2553 supports programming through JTAG, SBW, or BSL interfaces. The MSP-EXP430G2 has an on-board eZ-430 FET tool (SBW), but the most common tool is the MSP-FET (JTAG/SBW/BSL) for a custom PCB or MSP-TS430PW28A EVM. The MSP430-BSL can also be utilized if desired. You can use either the IAR/CCS IDE's to compile and debug a MSP430 project or use a software tool like MSP430-FLASHER, BSL-SCRIPTER, or FET-Pro430 to directly upload a binary image file.
