I ordered a MSP-EXP430G2 board 3+ weeks ago and so far have only received an email saying they were back ordered. Anyone have an idea of when they might start shipping?

Hello,
It is backordered until August.
Keep a look out on the Launchpad Wiki page for updates.

PT
I try the buy lanchapad using a debit card, but i recive the erro, the aplicacion no conect to ssl page.
Yeah the site is buggy, try refreshing the page once and then waiting 10 minutes to see if it went through. I tried that, I never got to an official order confirmation screen, but some minutes later I got an email confirmation
Hi,
Well, I ordered in june, paid by CC and still nothing received. Did send email to te address to sales, but no reply...
Also looks like the account I created for ordering vanished...
I have 2 emails, one order confirmation and one about backorder status.
Is this common? Long lead time or??
At MSP430 day, reps said that a big shipment had just left the manufacturer.
TI replaced their login/ordering system with a new version, which didn't carry forward all the old information. If you saved your order number, you should still be able to look up the status here: https://ti1.web-system.com/cgi/evm/oe/order_entry?action=mivaordertracking
Mine (also ordered in June) recently changed from "backordered" to "shipped."
I ordered on 6/25 or 6/26 with an order number from ti-estore just a bit less than 578000, and about a week ago the online order status changed to "shipped", three days ago it actually was picked up by Fedex from TI, and this morning it arrived.
I have been looking forward to getting launchpad since I'm actually working on a project that uses the exact compatible CPU variants for a small special purpose production project, and it is good to have a desktop unit to experiment with code and circuit changes before they're tested on the final board.
Anyone else with an order that is from a similar date should be getting their units soon. You might as well download CCS 4.20RC1 or whatever the latest version is now, though, since you will need it when the board arrives, and it might take a while to download depending on your connection.
i ordered in June, its been 3 months and still yet to get Launchpad - this long delay is "killjoy".
Never had to wait for an MCU this long. Big company like TI could have handled the "demand-supply-logistics" better.
Amidst all this hussle, they completely revamped their Ti-estore website which doesn't show details of earlier orders placed before revamp.
Ti wants to tap the Hobby/Student segment with their low cost Dev board but without proper strategy, they should have tested the waters before taking a plunge.
just a week after the official launch of "launch pad" the stocks are over - what was Ti thinking ? " We'll make boards after we get orders ? "
One more blunder Ti committed was allowing the users to order upto 3 kits, Well, Ti - get this straight, People are greedy and the more you try to give the more they want, i've seen on web some guys posting pics of 3 kits they received.
what is more lame? one guy getting 3 kits or three guys getting one kit each ?
