Broken LaunchPad

Hello!

I received my Launchpad on 7th of July. It worked perfectly since yesterday.

I was experimenting with IAR Kickstart debugger, looking at register values when my PC notified me that USB device changed. I disconected the Launchpad and rebooted the PC (Windows Vista). When I tried to load program on microcontroller again it didn't work. It shows dialog window and after about 10sec it says: cannot establish connection. I checked in Windows Device Maneger and under Texas JTAG emulator it displays "This device cannot start. Error code 10".

I tried to connect Launchpad to windows xp and it does the same.

Seems like a hardware issue to me. Can I check my board somehow? I'm pretty shure that FET part of the board is doing something wrong or is eventually busted.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi

I have been playing around with my launch pad for a couple of weeks now, and it has worked great from day 1.

CCS installed with no problems on my windows 7 64 bit system.

I was using the launchpad earlier tonight and as I was trying to load some code with CCS I got this alarm:

    Error initializing emulator:
    No USB FET was found

when I look under device manager I get:

    Unknown Device

And in the properties for the device I get:

no drivers loaded for this device

    and

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

When I unplug the launchpad and then replug it in I get

    USB device not recognized

I reinstalled CCS and still get the same alarms.

is there a way to reload the drivers?

it seems like a similar problem to the above post.

thanks for any help in advance.

  • Hi timotet,

have you tested to connect the Launchpad uisng another USB cable (i.e. one from an external HDD) and on another USB port (i.e. when using a HUB connect it to the PC directly).
