MSP430F5342: python-msp430-tools relies on a deprecated feature (MSP430_Identify) of the MSPDebugStack

I'm trying to use the python-msp430-tool packages to manipulate a couple of different msp430 devices via jtag. It turns out that the dll that's used by the python tools has been updated and MSP430_Identify has been deprecated. I've found some reference to this problem on stackOverflow and the author of that post indicates that they talked to the author of the python tool and got revised code that fixes the issue, but apparently this newer code was never published.
