Design a pulse oximeter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320VC5505, MSP430BT5190, CC2560

Hi

I recently purchased EZ430-RF2560 evaluation tool. I want to design a pulse oximeter using that. TI has already developed  pulse oximeter, TMS320VC5505. I want to see If I can incorporate the technology used in it to develop PO using the tool I bought. More over I want to develop a Bluetooth enabled pulse oximeter. Please send me any source code for the pulse oximeter and the circuit design for the photo detector part. You can see the block diagram in the following link: http://focus.ti.com/docs/solution/folders/print/330.html

Thank you

Vamsi

Maybe, but this is the MSP430 forum, and I don't think we can halp you analyzing how they did it with a TMS320.

The MSP430BT5190 is enabled for a BT stack and works together with a TI BT chip. See its product page.

Didn't you say you want to develop one on your own? Using source code and circuit design from someone else isn't development. It's rather lame. And if this is intellectual property and not freeware, then it's illegal too.

If you have problems with an MSP processor, you can get help here, but you won't get a complete application solution for free.

  • Hi Vamsi,

The RF2560 board has a UART interface in the 6-pin connector that you can use to communicate to any other device. You could receive and transmit data over a BT SPP connection using the RF2560 board and then transmit and receive this data through the external UART connector described prevoiusly to any other device.

    Regards,

    Miguel

  • MSP430BT5190+CC2560 is the ideal one for Pulse oximeter.Mindtree bluetooth stack can be used.As Pulse oximeter does not have much signal processing algorithm C5505DSP can be avoided.
