Team,
I have been asked to assist in an field issue where a customer's product that uses this chip is failing in the field.
The symptom from the failed units is consistently the same with Vcore = 0 V.
The unit is powered by a coin cell and removing and replacing it always recovers the unit. Alternatively the chip is responsive to a pulse on its reset pin.
Current drain remains low during the period where Vcore = 0 V and this combined with the part being able to recover operation with a reset pulse suggests it is not in any latch up condition.
In theory the version of this chip that we use does not have the option to put Vcore at 0 V but it is happening none the less.
Have you heard of similar symptoms before and if so do you know of any workarounds? Sorry for the lack of failure information, as this is all we have been provided at this point.
Thank you very much,
CY
