MSP430F5359: Peripheral module power/current consumption

Hi TI Experts,

I am looking for the power/current consumption of peripheral modules on MSP430F5339. So, do you have any data of this?
I expect that data like "5.9 Typical Characteristics – Current Consumption per Module" on page 33 MSP430FR5994 datasheet.

Hi Kaka,

Unfortunately, I cannot provide this data for MSP430F5359. We only have this in some of the newer datasheets for the FRAM devices and it was not something characterized in older flash device datasheets. Even for the newer devices, this is only a typical number and the actual way that you use the peripheral can matter. I think you will have to try running some tests with example code on an evaluation board to get a better estimate of your current consumption. Is there more that I can do to help? Are there particular modules that you are interested in?

Thank you for your response.
My customer are interested in the current consumption data of ADC, I2C, SPI, UART, DAC modules.
If you know the way to measure the current consumption individually each modules, please let me know the method.

Hi Kaka,

I would typically recommend that you take the LPM code example, and then combine this with a code example for each module with the setup that you care about (e.g. number of ADC channels sampled, etc). You can compare the current with the module active and without to find the difference and get an estimate. Does this make sense?
