MSP430F5359: Power consumption data of active at 2.0V

Hi TI Experts,

Please let me confirm whether TI has the current consumption data at active mode.

Do you have a current consumption data of MSP430F5359 during acitve at 2.0 like "Active Mode Supply Current Into VCC Excluding External Current" on datasheet page 54 ?

Best regards.

Kaka

  • Hi Kaka,

Since the core voltage is stable and independent of Vcc, there is not much of a current impact due to voltage changes externally and modifications to Vcc aren't as important. For 1xx/2xx/4xx devices, reducing Vcc to the lowest point possible in a given application is the most power efficient. But F5xx/6xx devices regulate down inherently which makes changing Vcc less of a factor. The best recommendation is to perform a quick bench check of a specific operating scenario to get some real-world numbers, you should notice the current consumption decrease by less than 100 uA (this will also depend on the DCO frequency).

  • Hi Ryan,

    Thank you for your comments.
I got it. I will try to measure the power consumption.

    Best regards.
