MSP430G2553: SPI Communication between DRV8305 and MSP430G2553

Part Number: MSP430G2553
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8305

Hello,

Can I connect three DRV8305 BLDC Driver with same SPI channels through daisy chain configuration? I am using an MSP430G2553 microcontroller. Whatever the answer is but please give me information about it.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

  • msp430 have no problem to support daisy chain SPI configuration. Regarding driver you are advised to consult motor drivers forum

  • I don't think the DRV8305 is made for daisy-chaining. But you can connect multiple devices to one SPI channel anyway. Simply provide one chip select for every slave and communicate with them one after the other. If you only send data to the slaves you may even select all of them at the same time, but you have to make sure that no one will control the SOMI line in this case. This information may be found in the datasheet.
