MSP430G2553: Error Message

Part Number: MSP430G2553
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ENERGIA

I am new to the whole Micro Controller community, but its something I have great interest in. I just recently attended two different workshops this weekend held by TI at University of Illinois. We used different MSP boards, but I was getting a very similar message each time I tried to upload basic code on to my board through energia.  my error is "msp430-g++: error: EXP430G2\energia-1.6.10E18\hardware\tools\msp430/include: No such file or directory". I tried running through CCS online, but I was still getting a similar error message. I received an error message like this on the MSP 430FR6968, MSP 432, and my personal MSP430G2. The first two I used during the TI workshops, and I followed the instructions very carefully during the presentation. The instructor was unable to determine the cause of the error, so I am wondering if this has something to do with my laptop to cause all of this. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much!

  • Hello Nicholas,
When you are connecting these launchPads, Is USB driver getting installed properly? You can check those in Windows device manager under Ports. Looks like it is not getting proper driver on your PC.
If it is not getting installed properly then you have to provide driver for the same. You can download FET-Pro430-Lite-3v41-Setup.zip from www.elprotronic.com and install it on your PC. Now check if it is getting installed. You can provide path to driver manually at below location if you have installed this package in default directory :
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Elprotronic\MSP430\FET-Pro430\USB-Driver
