MSP432P401R: Power consumed by MSP432 for solar panel

Part Number: MSP432P401R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3100

Hello,

I want to power by MSP432 launchpad entirely by solar panels (solar panels -> dc battery -> MSP432).

I wanted to know how much is the maximum Power in watts that the MSP432 consumes?

So that I use the solar panels of that rating accordingly.

My Msp432 will be connected to a LCD, keypad and CC3100 wifi boost.

  • Hello,
The power number is a function of the operation. If you look at the datasheet, (www.ti.com/.../slas826e.pdf you can find current numbers for the MSP432.

    Chris
  • Hello,
This is very dependent on your application.
How do you plan to use the MSP432?
Also, the CC3100 especially when it is transmitting or receiving may set the limits on how much energy your application requires.
I'd recommend as a starting point determine the frequency you would like to run the MSP432 at, and look up the active power number in the datasheet. Same can be done for the CC3100. This will give you a good baseline.

    Regards,
    Priya
