MSP430I2041: For regarding error "Device is not supported errors" with MSP430I2041 Microcontroller by CCS V6.1.0 software.

Dear Sir

We are working on programming of MSP430I2041 by CCS V6.1.0 . We are using TEST,RESET,VCC,GND Pins for programming.

We select proper Target Configuration but "Device is not support" error occures.

So please provides me technical supports.

I am waiting for your positive responces.

    Hello Giriraj,

    The MSP430I2041 is compatible with CCS V6.1, what type of FET tool are you using? Can you confirm that the linker command file and project properties' device selection are correct as well? Are you using a TI EVM or custom board? Make sure that the RESET line has a 47 kOhm pullup resistor and 1/2.2 nF pulldown capacitor. Can you provide a screenshot of the error?

    Thanks For your reply.

    FET Tools :- MSP-FET430UIF interface the MSP-EXP430G2 Launch Pad.

    We Assembled MSP430I2041 on different PCB Board and we connect  VCC,GND,RST,TEST pins of MSP430I2041 to EVM orCustom Board.

    We also conncet 47Kohm ,2.2nf, resistor and capacitor to RST pin of MSP430I2041MCU.

    We use MSP430-EXP430G2 Rev1.4 Launch Pad Emulation board.

    Please sir provides me Technical Supports.

    Giriraj,

    The eZ430 FET on-board the MSP-EXP430G2 only supports F20xx, F21x2, F22xx, G2x01, G2x11, G2x21, G2x31, and G2x53 target devices. If using the MSP-FET430UIF then you should make sure that pin 2 (VCC_TOOL) is connected to VCC, pin 1 (TDO/TDI) to RST, pin 7 (TCK) to TEST, and pin 9 (GND) to common ground.

    Thanks for your reply.

    We use above emulation board.

    We programmed successfully MSP430AFE252 MCU with above attached board image at time of programming we removed shorting links and we connected four pin connector wires between Emulation side section of above board and MSP430AFE252  to VCC,GND,RST,TEST .At this time we remove MSP430-EXPG2 MCU IC from board.

    But due to I/O pins issue we use MSP430I2041 MCU and we repeat all above process for programming and I was post to you the error screenshot.

    So please provides me your technical supports.

    I will again repeat that the eZ430 FET on-board the MSP-EXP430G2 only supports F20xx, F21x2, F22xx, G2x01, G2x11, G2x21, G2x31, and G2x53 target devices. This does not include the MSP430I2041, please use a MSP-FET, MSP-FET430UIF, or any other MSP430 LaunchPad which has an on-board eZ-FET that supports all MSP430 devices.

    Dear Sir we wants to use MSP-EXP430FR5994 emulation board so please suggest me sir IS it suitable for programming of MSP430I2041 MCU ??

    Yes, the eZ-FET on the MSP-EXP430FR5994 is a valid programming tool for the MSP430I2041.

    DEAR SIR

    Due to availability problem of MSP-EXP430FR5994 Launch PAD Development Kit in India's TEXAS Distributor Stocks we use MSP-EXP430FR4133 Launch PAD Development Kit For Programming of MSP430I2041 MCU.

    IS MSP-EXP430FR4133 Launch PAD Development Kit suitable for our application??
