MSP430FR5972: Firmware upgrade

I am using MSP430FR5972 which have 64 KB of memory and there are 4 segments each 128byte.

I want to use 1st segment for FRAM log event store, the 2nd segment for upload .hex file to run in normal mode and 3rd segment for store firmware to use firmware upgradations.

so is it possible or I am going on a wrong way plz suggest and correct me

Hi PK,

Are you asking for a bootloader that allows you to perform firmware upgrades and partition memory into different segments? I think MSP430FRBoot will interest you. It is a bootloader for our FRAM parts. Please review it and let me know if it's what you're looking for.

Hi Caleb You'r right I want the same thing.
Plz can you suggest me how can I do this. or send me any small example code for small task to just understand the concept practically
I am using MSP430FR5972 & CCS v7.
It would be very helpfull for me.

Hi,

The link to MSP430FRBoot that I included in my previous post contains code examples for several FRAM devices. While it does not include the MSP430FR5972 exactly, the code examples can be ported to that device after fully understanding them. Also, please read through MSP430FRBoot – Main Memory Bootloader and Over-the-Air Updates for MSP430 FRAM (Rev. A). This application report describes the code functionality and structure.
