Hi, I am studying on the PWM Timer_B as DAC output by MSP430F149.slaa116. Due to the DCO limitation of MSP430F149 is around 32 kHz. Could I add an external crystal oscillator(40kHz) to the MSP? Just like tiduai8a`s MSP430F5172 has. Thanks for your time.

    Hi Yingkai,

    The DCO of the MSP430F149 has a max frequency of 8Mhz. Our more recent parts, including our FRAM portfolio, have a max DCO frequency >= 16 MHz. If you'd like, you can still use an external 40kHz cyrstal, but from what you've described above, it is not necessary.
