MSP430F5659: RTC Pin connections

hello,

I am using msp430f5659 microcontroller. I want to use inbuilt RTC module of it and confused about the connections of the pins related to it since application circuit is not available in the ti documents. Please suggest me the circuit for the reference.

Hi Harish!

Most of the RTC action happens inside the MSP, so please specify your questions a little bit more in detail. What connections do you mean? Chapter 22 and following in the user's guide describe the RTC and the code examples also have an example for the RTC.

I have attached a 32.768KHz cystal between Xin and Xout pins and VABK pin to gnd through 470nF. I have connected a battery between VBAT and gnd but i want to supply vcc when circuit is on otherwise it should operate from the battery. Is there any method to switch between VCC and battery without any switching IC ? And what is the RTCCLK pin connection ?
