CCS/MSP-EXP432P401R: with BOOSTXL-CC2650 MA

Part Number: MSP-EXP432P401R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650, ENERGYTRACE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello !

I want to mesure the CC2650 consomption of my application so I bought a BOOSTXL CC2650MA and a MSP-EXP432P401R Rev1.0.

I put my code on the CC2650 module (I used a CC2650 Launchpad to program) and it's working very well, I can see the BLE device on my phone application when the CC2650MA is connected to the CC2650 Launchpad.

I know CC2650MA and MSP-EXP432P401R devices cannot be plugged because the reset doesn't match. So I plugged it with some wires :

MSP-EXP432P401R             CC2650MA

GND                    GND (20)

+5V                      +5V (21)

+3.3                      +3.3 (11)

So only alimentation, be carefull btw, there is write "GND" on the 22 but it's wrong, there is anything mapped/routed with it.

To avoid constant-reset state of the CC2650MA I put a wire between the NRESET and the 3.3V.

It's working very well in the CC2650MA side because I can see the device and exchange data with it from my phone application.

My issue is with the XDS110, I'm unable to connect it. I have the following message when I try to launch Energytrace from CCSv7.1 :

When I unplug my wires from the +5V and the 3.3V and put the jumpers to power the MSP432, it's working again, why ?

I'm joining you a picture wich will be maybe more explicative of my hardware state.

Best regards,

John
