MSP430F5529: Flash and RAM

Hi,

I am using MSP430F5529 on my board. I require MSP to remember some passcodes (4 digit numbers) when it goes to sleep mode to save power (currently LPM3). Is MSP capable of saving those passcodes in the internal flash? Can the internal flash be used for storing miscellaneous data or it is just used to save the main code binary? what about RAM, can I save the passcodes in the RAM and preserve it when the device goes to LPM3?

In LPM0/1/2/3/4, the SRAM contents are retained. Only LPM4.5 cuts power off entirely.

You can use any (free) part of the flash to store data. But erasing can be done only on entire segments, so you'd usually use the information memory segments, which are smaller than the normal flash segments.

To avoid having to do too many erases, you could implement some form of wear leveling; see Emulating EEPROM in MSP430 Flash.
