msp430f5529: Where to find information and post questions about the TI Resource Explorer

Part Number: MSP430F5529
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDC7200EVM, MSP-EXP430F5529LP

Hi,

I was handed an MSP430F5529LP and stared trying to implement an ISR to fetch measurements from a TDC7200EVM.

I'm lost but get the impression that it's encouraged to RTFM, so I'm trying.

I was having trouble figuring out how to do a word search on the PDFs rendered in the Resource Explorer. Should be simple right? So either I'm an idiot for not seeing the obvious, or there's a pretty big hole in the user interface (my money is on "idiot").

This led to another question, where to post questions about the TI Resource Explorer?

I'm just an aging programmer trying to exercise due diligence - any help is appreciated.

  • Hi B Lench,

I see that you are spanning this question across multiple forums: e2e.ti.com/.../586394

As Resource Explorer is a product embedded in the IDE then questions regarding it could most likely be directed to the Code Composer Studio Forum, however I may be able to help with your PDF word search question. With the embedded Adobe Acrobat PDF viewer I am able to simply click on the magnifying glass or use the shortcut Ctrl+F to start a word search. You could alternatively view the document in your internet browser using the literature number or download a separate copy to your system to investigate with whichever PDF viewer you prefer. Please feel free to post any MSP-EXP430F5529LP questions you might have to the MSP Forum.

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,
Thank you for the reply. The question in the other forum was not being answered.
    Please follow this link "dev.ti.com/.../
Here we can see the word "exposed" in the document (in red). If I use the search window/magnifying-glass and enter "exposed", it navigates away from the current document.
I'm not accessing the Resource Explorer via an IDE; that relationship was never apparent.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • Okay I now understand that you are using the online Resource Explorer, in that case you will have to open the document in a new tab (top right corner of document viewer, right of the document name) or download a copy of the document. Even after this it should be noted that text from images cannot be found using a search tool, as is the case with several words in the LaunchPad Quick Start Guide.

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • Thanks Ryan!
It took me a minute to find the "Find" option on "Customize and control Chrome" menu-options - but it works! (...on words not embedded in images).
    Cheers,
    Bill
