MSP430FR5969: Cannot Enter BSL Using Hardware Invocation

We have to program an MSP430FR5969 from another MSP430FR5969, but we weren't able to invoke BSL using the hardware invocation with TST/RST.

We tried using the MSP Launchpad Interface from slau319, and that also failed to invoke BSL.

Are connections were:

BSL Interface MSP430G2553	MSP430FR5969 Launchpad
P1.6	TXD
P1.7	RXD
P1.4	RST
P1.5	TST

The MSP430FR5969 Launchpad we are working with has a G4 revision chip and is a Rev 2.0 board.

Hi Sasawat,

Could you provide a schematic of the connections including any resistors and capacitors on the lines? Also, could you provide a scope shot of the entry sequence being executed?

We are connecting the MSP430G2553 Launchpad to the MSP430FR5969 Launchpad directly for testing (no added capacitors or resistors). Using an MSP430G2553 Launchpad works using this method.

Hi Sasawat,

It looks like you're not meeting the proper tSBW,EN time specified in the MSP430FR5969 datasheet:

As can be seen, the minimum duration for tSBW,EN is 110us and you are only holding TEST high for 18.6us. Try modifying your code to accommodate this and let me know the results.
