RTOS/MSP432P401R: MSP432P401R

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello!

I am using the ADC single channel example from TI RTOS for MSP432. I have a sensor connected at port 5 pin 5 (ADC channel 0). I am getting a sampling rate of 43000 Hz.

I wish to increase this sampling rate. How can I do that? Is it possible to somehow link one of the clocks (say MCLK) to the ADC in TI RTOS and then control the speed or is there another method?

Thanks!

  • Hello,
I am investigating what is the maximum signaling rate afforded by the TI RTOS. In this particular example it is a function of both the settings of the ADC as well as the thread execution timing. Some of the default settings for the ADC are MCLK/1 and Sample-Hold Time of 4 ADC clocks, so for example if you select a 14-bit resolution example the measurement will take 1+4+16+1 clock cycles (1 for sync, 4 for S&H, 16 for conversion, and 1 for memory). The MCLK will be a function of the power configuration, but must cannot exceed 25Mhz for the ADC operation.

I would recommend looking at the driverLib examples to see how to control the timing with a timer. Here are some examples:
