Compiler/MSP430F5310: Ask for solution for MSP430F5310

Part Number: MSP430F5310

Tool/software: TI C/C++ Compiler

I want to make a quadrotor by MSP430F5310, could anyone here suggest a kit of learning tools ? I mean Emulator and other things maybe used.

  • Hi Qi,

    I would suggest taking a trip to 43oh.com. This is a site of developers and hobbyists who use the MSP430 for interesting projects like a quadrotor. Just a quick google search provided these links:

    forum.43oh.com/.../

    Also if you're unfamiliar with the TI MSP430 we offer LaunchPad development kits to help get you started quickly. While there is not an exact one to the MSP430F5310 we also offer target boards. Here are a few links to some launchpads and target boards:

  • What's the differences between LaunchPad and BoostPak ?
    It seemed that BoostPak is like the "Shield" in Arduino, that is the extended board, is that right ?
    But I read in ccXXX description, it seemed that, BoostPak is an analogy for some portion of the MCU, is it a separated component or just a portion of the MCU ?
  • Hi Qi,

    A LaunchPad is a development kit that can be used to quickly evaluate and develop on an MSP430 MCU. A BoosterPack is like an Arduino shield. They fit onto the headers of the LaunchPad and add additional functionality for developing applications. A BoosterPack is not a portion of the MCU.

  • What's the differences between MSP Low-Power Microcontroller and SimpleLink™ WiFi CC31xx/CC32xx ?
    Is mainly Bluetooth communication mode and Wifi communication mode or there is still others ?
  • Hi Qi,

    The CC31xx/32xx device is part of the SimpleLink™ microcontroller (MCU) platform which consists of Wi-Fi, low energy, Sub-1 GHz and host MCUs, which all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single core software development kit (SDK) and rich tool set. A one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform enables you to add any combination of the portfolio’s devices into your design, allowing 100 percent code reuse when your design requirements change. For more information, visit Overview for SimpleLink™ solutions.

    The only MSP device included in SimpleLink is the MSP432. TI's MSP430 Low-Power Microcontrollers are not included in the SimpleLink platform.
