MSP430F5529: 3D-PRINTERPACK Eagle Schematic "Correction"

Part Number: MSP430F5529
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-PRINTERPACK, MSP-EXP430F5529LP

I appreciate the effort developing the Eagle schematic and board files; they are a great benefit.

I want to send the board file off for a prototype, but before doing so I'd like to understand if the "correction" noted on the launchpad header is of any concern.  I've checked the layout and don't see any connections between the referenced pins, but want to ensure that I've not missed something important. TIA

Bob

FWIW - I've taken to heart the comment in the MSPWARE description that the use is not limited to driving 3D printers  I'm experimenting with using the X-Y steppers to make a mini-seismic shake table to evaluate an accelerometer. Thanks again for the effort that went into both the boards and the firmware; all are very much appreciated.

  • Hi Bob,

Glad to hear that you are able to make use of the TIDM-PRINTERPACK software and design files. The "corrections" mentioned in the schematic refer to the MSP-EXP430F5529LP header footprint, which uses pins 3.5, 3.6, 8.1, & 8.2 instead of the correct 5.1, 5.0, 3.5, & 3.6, respectively. The changes are by notation only and do not affect the actual operation of the BoosterPack.

    Regards,
    Ryan
  • Ryan,
Thank you for the speedy reply and confirming what I thought was likely the case.
If my shake-table works as hoped, I'll share source and design files. My current plan is to use the Prusa printer I have on order to manufacture the table hardware. Should be an interesting project. :)

    Best regards,
    Bob
