MSP-EXP430G2: LaunchPad_Temp_GUI.exe issue

Part Number: MSP-EXP430G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2553

Hello all,

A professor ask,

" I'm trying to use "LaunchPad_Temp_GUI.exe" on a DELL Latitude E6540 personal computer with Windows 7 Enterprise Service Pack 1, but the interface does not start. I also tried to start it in administrator mode but no change. A MSP-EXP430G2 Launchpad is attached to the PC and UART application (COM xx) is correctly operating. Could you please give me some tips about this contingency.

Could anyone help me with this?

Thank you in advance

  • Hello Kaustubh,

I got the GUI working on my setup. Make sure that MSP-EXP430G2-LaunchPad User Experience Application code has been programmed to the MSP430G2553 device, indicated by LED1 & LED2 blinking alternatively. Pressing S2will put the device into temperature mode. After typing the correct COM port inside of the GUI and pressing the Enter key, the GUI should start displaying the current temperature. Make sure that the TXD & RXD jumpers are installed vertically for the SW UART mode.

    Regards,
    Ryan
