Hi Martin,
The MSP-FET has not been discontinued. We have been updating the design for CE compliance and are currently trying to rebuild the inventory. Unfortunately, our existing inventory has depleted more than anticipated in the interim. We are working as hard as possible to get the inventory built back up, but we expect it to be another month or two before inventory returns to previous levels.
Thank you for your patience,
Mike
I was told there would be stock at Mouser and I ordered one unit immediately (now Mouser stock is zero again).
I received my unit today. It looks like it has received an EMC-fix, due to a WE split-ferrite added onto the supplied USB cable.
My unit does have a mechanical problem, though: The USB connector on the programmer unit is recessed so far, that there is no reliable connection. If tried a number of different USB cables, it didn't work. Because I need the unit immediately, I did a quick fix myself rather than returning the faulty unit. The s/n of my unit is 170500030W and I can send a photo of the problem, if desired.

Hi Mike,
I don't have an issue with the cable that is supplied, I have an issue with the USB-connector sitting on the PCB of the MSP-FET.
The way I received the unit, I had to continously press the cable connector into the PCB connector (or against the housing, this is what stopped it).
To fix it, I took out the PCB, filed the two mounting holes into long holes, this allowing me to slide the PCB a bit towards the USB connector end. I gained at least one mm. With this, the USB cable connects reliably.
Best regards,
Martin
