I want to make a PowerPoint Pointer using MSP430 uC but it doesn't have USB host capabilities how can I make it work as a USB host?

(Basically, I want to know is there any USB host shield available like in case if Arduino UNO for MSP430 to enable USB host capabilities?

Hi Abhinav,

None of the MSP430 micro-controllers with a USB module have the ability to be a host. It is hardware limited in that way. The MSP430 USB library has the ability to provide HID, CDC and MSC device side capabilities.

Well I would suggest taking a look at the MSP430F5529 micro-controller. We have multitude of devices in the MSP430F5xx_6xx family that can be used based on your memory requirements and any other capability your require. You can get started quickly with your development by using the MSP430F5529 USB Launchpad Evaluation Kit.
