MSP430F2272: Alternative MSP plus Ethernet capability

Part Number: MSP430F2272

Hello.

We are using MSP430F2272 on some of our boards. The micrcontroller has been working well apart from occasion DCO issue. We are now working on the next generation of our products. I wonder if anyone could recommend a microcontroller which we could migrate MSP430F2272 code and has Ethernet capability (and if possible, does not require DCO). The next microcontroller should have everything MSP430F2272 has got and maybe even better. We are hoping not to rewrite the code from scratch. Please advise.

Many Thanks,

Carter

  • Hello Carter,

Sorry you are having DCO issues. If you can describe them I can help you out in resolving them .  as far as MSP430s go though, there are no MSP430s available with Ethernet capability.  You may want to look at our TIVA class of MCUs TI offers for Ethernet. Alternatively, you could possibly hook up an external Ethernet enabled device to an MSP430, but I am unsure of what requirements are for your application or for running an Ethernet stack.
