MSP430FR6989: LCD display interface

Hello everyone,

I have to interface alphanumeric display to with MSP430FR6989 controller , the TI's lunchpad have display which is FH1138P, I different application note on MSP430FR6989 and  in all note FH1138P is used

does MSP430FR6989 is only compatible only with FH1138P? 

Can i use any other alphanumeric display to interface with MSP430FR6989?

Selection of any other display will affect in selection of internal register of LCD driver?

does anyone have the sample code ?

i have selected one LCD to interface with it; please suggest me can i interface it with MSP430FR6989 or suggest me any other LCD display which can easily available.

    Hello Ajay,

    The MSP430FR6989 has an integrated LCD driver (with contrast control for up to 320 segments) and supports more than just the FH1138P. However, as the FH1138P is the LCD chosen for the MSP-EXP430FR6989 you will find that all examples are designed for it and must be ported to work with a different display. Internal registers should be adjusted properly but the LCD display you've referenced can be supported and has been asked about on this forum before:
