Hi,

I needed to update the firmware of an existing product that uses FF29_USB_BSL_Flash.txt which has been customized with our VID/PID.

The update was on our application firmware only, and not on the bootloader, but it increased the size slightly and is now causing an overlap with the two bytes written at location @FFAE at the end of FF29_USB_BSL_Flash.txt.

I could really use some help figuring this out.

I do not recognize the file name "FF29_USB_BSL_Flash.txt". Which BSL is this?

The BSL is stored at addresses 1000..17FF. How is address FFAE related with the BSL?

This was converted from the original MSP430F5529 BSL and renamed. The only thing I'm aware of changing was the VID & PID, so I'm not sure why the section at FFAE was added.

FFAE is an unused part of the interrupt vector table. What does the BSL .txt file try to write there? Is it used for something by the application firmware?

Yes, I've been trying to figure out why this is there. it's been several years since this version was created and I need to look into it.
I agree, it doesn't make sense.
I tried another version of BSL with the updated VID/PID that doesn't have these two bytes written and it seems to perform just fine, without the conflict.
