MSP-FET430UIF: Help

Part Number: MSP-FET430UIF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5510

Hello,

So I am trying to use the MSP-FET430UIF V1.4A in conjunction with FlashPro430 in order to debug and reprogram my MSP430F5510. As far as I can tell, this debugger should be compatible with the software but for some reason it detects that the debugger is connected but cannot communicate with it. I am attaching some images along with his thread. If anyone can help me with this issue, it would be much appreciated

Also, if someone can help me with upgrading the version of the debugger to FalshPro430 acceptable version, it would be of greater help.

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Sushant,

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, your screenshots did not post. Can you use the "Use rich formatting" option on the bottom right of the reply window and then select the "Insert/Edit Media" icon (shown below).

I've looped in our Tools team, but in the meantime, can you share more information about what version of the FlashPro430 software you're using? Also, what is your operating system (OS) on your PC? Is it Linux/Ubuntu/Windows/Mac?

Do you have any LaunchPads that you could use to program your MSP430F5510 until this issue is resolved?

  • The FLASHPro430 I am using is V5.3-7B. I think that is the latest version of Elprotronics FlashPro. I am currently on Windows 7 64 bit OS. And I do not have a Launch Pad that I could put my MSP430F5510 on. Its already mounted on my PCB. I am going in through JTAG to debug the MSP430.

  • BTW, 5510 can be flashed easily by USB BSL without any glue logic, or extra tools.
  • Hello,

Has this issue been resolved? If not, have you been able to utilize the BSL to program the device?

  • I used FET-Pro430 from Elprotronics to program my Flash. Apparently, the Flash Pro430 didn't recognize my MSP-FET430UIF.
  • Hello,

Thank you for replying. I'm glad you resolved your issue. Unfortunately, I have limited experience with the Elprotronics software and didn't realize that the FlashPro software is for the FlashPro-430 programmer instead of the MSP-FET430UIF. I'm sure your solution will help other community members who may face the same issue.
