I am checking out the new MSP430FR6047 that I probably want to use in my water flow solution. I have got the same question as Kissn.

How is the time accuracy of < 5ps reached? I found some information that the sigma-delta high speed modulator works with an oversampling up to

80MHz. That means that the signals will be sampled every 12.5ns. After the digitalization of the down- and upstream signal the cross correlation is calculated.

So how is the system able to reach this accuracy?

And what is the difference between "<25-ps Differential Time-of-Flight (dTOF) Accuracy" and "High-Precision Time Measurement Resolution of <5 ps" ?
